Sizing
The Organic Earthing Sheet is 90cm × 2.8m and is suitable for single, double, king and super king size beds.
We generally recommend fitting the sheet length-ways and having one sheet per person for maximum comfort and increased grounding exposure.
Alternatively, for double and king beds, another option is to fit one sheet width-ways on the bed, allowing two people to make contact.
Is It Safe?
Sleeping on the sheet would be the equivalent of lying on the bare Earth outside, which makes it very natural and safe. It simply acts as an extension cord, bringing the Earth's energy inside and allowing you to stay grounded while you sleep.
It is important to note that the Earthing Sheet does not run on electricity, nor does it even come into contact with electricity. The plug is designed only to connect to the earth point of the socket and is not connected to the live electrical ports.
Earthing technology has been around for over 15 years and was designed by a famous electrical engineer named Clint Ober. You can find many of Ober's talks online where he addresses the safety concerns around Earthing products.

The grounding effect can be measured with a multimeter device, which allows one to measure voltage in the body before and after grounding.
The video below shows how touching the Earthing Sheet causes a significant drop in body voltage.
Why is body voltage important?
When not grounded, you will generally see a high amount of volts being carried by the body and this is often further increased when there is a presence of dirty electricity in the surrounding environment.
Body voltage becomes even higher as we move further away from the ground. In fact, for every meter (3.28 feet) you are above the ground, 300 volts of charge will build up in the body. This means if you are in a second story bedroom, your charge would be 1,000 volts, on average.
When grounded, the body shares the same electrical potential as the Earth and this provides a protective effect against any excess positive charge.
Washing & Care Instructions
It is good to wash your Earthing Sheet. The material will not be harmed by washing, in fact it is beneficial. Washing strips body sweat and natural skin oils from the silver, keeping it conductive.
Here's how to wash and care for the sheet:
DOs
- Wash in a washing machine with warm water (40°C / 105°F)
- Use a liquid laundry detergent
- Line dry or dry in a dryer on low (up to 65°C / 150°F)
- Can be ironed on a low heat if desired
DON'Ts
- Don't wash with bleach
- Don't wash with fabric softeners
- Don't use whitening detergents, oxi-detergents or detergents with oils like lavender or coconut oil
- Don't use dryer sheet fabric softeners
- Don't dry clean
Bleach, lotions and oils can tarnish the silver rendering it non-conductive. Fabric softener can build up on the silver and ruin its conductive properties. It is also good practice to wait one hour to use the Earthing Sheet after applying lotion to the skin.

Does the Earthing Sheet use electricity?
No. The Rowland Earthing Sheet does not run on electricity. It connects only to the earth point of a standard UK socket, so the socket can remain switched off while the sheet is in use.
Can I use it underneath my normal bed sheet?
Yes. The Earthing Sheet can be fitted underneath a covering sheet made from a natural material such as cotton or bamboo. It can also be used as the top layer if you prefer more direct contact.
How do I wash the Earthing Sheet?
Machine wash at around 40°C using a liquid laundry detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, whitening products and detergents containing oils, as these can affect the silver fibres.
How do I know the sheet is working?
When connected to a correctly wired socket with an earth connection, the sheet is grounded. You can also verify the connection using a conductivity tester or multimeter.
Can I use an extension lead?
Yes, providing both the wall socket and the extension lead have a working earth connection.
Is there any plastic used in the packaging?
